The Full Story

Unhoused Project

In a collaborative effort, Common Ground partnered with the City of Appleton and Celebrate Diversity Fox Cities to address the growing issue of homelessness in our communities. This initiative was a part of the Fox Valley Speaks project, aimed at creating a safe space for residents to share their perspectives and experiences regarding homelessness.

Creating a Safe Space for Dialogue

The primary objective of this event was to foster open and empathetic conversations about homelessness. By bringing together community members from diverse backgrounds, we aimed to de-stigmatize homelessness and work towards local solutions. Understanding that the first step towards change is listening, we prioritized creating an environment where everyone felt welcome to share their stories and insights.

Community Engagement and Impact

The event was a resounding success, providing a platform for meaningful dialogue and community engagement. Participants shared their personal experiences and perspectives, shedding light on the multifaceted nature of homelessness. This collective input is invaluable as we move forward in our efforts to develop effective strategies and policies to address homelessness in the Fox Valley area.

Looking Ahead

The insights and feedback gathered from this event will play a crucial role in shaping future initiatives. We are committed to continuing this important conversation and working towards tangible solutions that support and uplift our community.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to this vital discussion. Together, we can make a difference and create a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
